We had 4 thanksgiving dinners this year....
#1 Sunday before Thanksgiving with Mike and Ashley and Steve's family. Mike and Ashley came into town before the holiday because Ashley was scheduled to work on Thursday. It was so much fun to have them around! We miss them when they are in AZ. We got to spend a lot of quality time with them and it was a lot of fun for us! We plan on driving down to AZ sometime soon so we can see their house and hang out again.
*Side note...Tuesday night was the 2010 Utah Blizzard that will NOT go down in history because it never happened. The weathermen got everyone in the state of UT all hyped up over a blizzard that was going to be crazy and dangerous, so people frantically left work early, closed businesses down for the day, went grocery shopping to stock up. One lady on the news was in the store with a cart full of batteries because she was convinced the power would go out due to the storm. Turns out, there wasn't much of a storm. The winds blew, but snow didn't fall. Our original plan was to stay at Steve's parents for the night because we thought it would be too dangerous to drive 25 minutes back to South Jordan. When we saw the "so-called blizzard" we decided to brave it and....WE SURVIVED THE 2010 BLIZZARD!
#2 Wednesday night at 9pm with Jessica and Steve's family. Jessica is Steve's sister and she plays basketball for a junior college in WY. They came to SLC for a tournament, but didn't play until Friday. The coach decided to have a team Thanksgiving dinner, and since we had my bro Jake and my parents staying with us, we didn't want to go to the team dinner...so we compromised and had a separate family pre-Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday night. The team didn't get in until late that night though, so we ended up eating at 9, but it was fun and delicious!
#3 Thursday at 2 pm we had a beautiful and delicious Thanksgiving meal with my aunt Laurie (dad's sister) and uncle Rick's family. It was so fun! Especially since my parents were able to come into town on Thursday morning. I missed them a lot, so seeing them and spending the weekend together made everything ten times better!
#4 Thursday night at 6 pm we headed up to Salt Lake to Anne and Mike's family Thanksgiving. They were running late, so instead of just showing up for dessert, we ended up being there for the entire meal! Jake, Steve, and my dad ate again, but my mom and I were stuffed full! We had fun talking and playing games there.
So after all of those Thanksgiving meals, we headed for Black Friday shopping! We found some good deals and had a really good time. We also went down to Provo to see Jake's dorm...except he forgot his key so we didn't get to see it...and we ate at my parents' favorite Mexican restaurant La Casita. Delicious! That night we made gingerbread houses and watched "Date Night"
We tried to take a group picture with the self time but the lighting was pretty bad.
Friday night we headed up to see Jessica play in her tournament. She did awesome and it was fun to watch her! I played with Lily most of the game too, which is always fun.
And here is the half time show! He went on for the entire song, about 5 minutes....very interesting!
um...your dad and brother are twins...holy cow!
