I will post pics of Christmas as soon as I can, but for now,
my pictures of the Bahamas will have to do.
The day after Christmas we went to church, and at midnight we flew out of the San Francisco airport on a red eye to Ft. Lauderdale Florida. Let me just tell you, Red-eyes SUCK. I tried to sleep but it's so hard on an airplane, and just as I was drifting off I woke up nauseous. I was in between very obese people and I knew it would be difficult to get out, especially since they were both sleeping and spilling into my chair, so any movement would wake both of them up. I toughed it out for a while, knowing I might not be able to keep it down much longer, and after about 10 minutes. I literally jumped over them and ran to the back of the airplane and proceded to throw up over and over and over. It was horrible. The flight attendant was very nice and gave me some 7up, so I returned to my seat in between two widely awake people now to try to survive through the last 2 hours of the flight.

Once we landed, I was happy again! We took a shuttle 20 minutes into Miami and then waited to get onto the ship. I love cruise ships! We got on and went to eat first, of course! The food is so delicious and they had amazing soft pretzel balls that I stuffed myself full of. We had the lifeboat drill, and then headed to the front of the ship to set sail. Bon Voyage!
It was very, very windy so excuse the hair and squinting eyes.
Our first stop was Freeport on Grand Bahama Island. Beautiful!
We shopped and enjoyed the beach and thoroughly enjoyed the sunshine.
Conch is the big thing to eat in the Bahamas so we had to try some. It was pretty good (especially considering it was deep fat fried!) We watched this kid cut the conch out of the shell and get the good meat off, then send it over to the conch food cart for them to cook fresh conch. Yum! Dad got to pull the conch out the shell. The conch are still alive when they are in the shell, and they only die when they are cut up after being pulled out.
Next stop was Nassau...and I unfortunately left my camera on the ship. Luckily Kyle and my parents had theirs, but I am still waiting on those pictures.
Our last stop was a private island owned by Norweigan cruise line, and that was so much fun. We relaxed on the beach, snorkeled, ate yummy food, dominated a volleyball tournament, and just enjoyed the day in the sun! I will put those pictures in the next post.
Looks like so much fun! Sorry about the puke. Can't be fun. Glad your trip got better!
