Happy Anniversary to us!

TODAY IS OUR 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! HOORAY!
I am not really big into anniversaries, so we didn't do much, and seeing as it was a Sunday we could do even less. Saturday we went shopping and out to eat and watched some movies together so that was a perfect celebration in my mind. Today we had church and it was fast Sunday. We were anxious to get home to have our cake that has been in the freezer for 1 year! We pulled it out and it was still pretty good (but what isn't good after fast Sunday right?). The frosting tasted a bit like freezer burn but the cherry chip cake was still good. Steve will probably still eat it over the next couple of days.

So yummy!

After eating the cake, we went on a walk to Blockbuster to return the movies we rented last night, and then we walked over to our friends house, the Dames to have dinner. It was a ton of fun! The Dames have two twin girls that I watch in nursery and they are a blast to hang around with. We love playing with the girls and talking with Shelli and Mike. Hopefully we can become better and better friends. One thing we miss most about California is our close ward family friends. It seems everyone in Utah is so wrapped up in their own family that they don't need close friends in the ward. We hope the Dames will become like family to us soon because we sure love to hang out with them!

What a great way to spend our 1 year anniversary! It was a fun weekend and the end of school is near for both of us! Can't wait for summer break!

  1. Happy Anniversary Sara and Steve! Sounds like a great 1st Anniversary. They way you celebrated sounds perfect, just spending time together! That is what I love to do.
We felt the same way about living in Utah, even though we had family there. It still is fun to make good friends to hang with on nights that family can't.
Where will you be this summer? We will be in SJ in July, hope we can see you both! Good luck with the end of school and Happy Anniversary!

  2. Ok, let's just admit it. I luuuuurrve you! So glad you and Stebe (or so the girl's say his name) could come celebrate your anniversary with us. I'm just wishing I would have paid closer attention to the date to make it a more special occasion at our house. And thank you SO much for taking care of me tonight, dinner was delicious and it was so nice to hang out with friends. You two are gems. And Mike is reading over my shoulder and was so grateful for a real non-grilled-cheese-same-old meal tonight. And he's especially thankful for perfectly cooked rice, which he doesn't ever get at our house, since, like I said I can't muster up decent minute rice. You two are gems! Thanks again!

  3. ps, yes, I know overkill tonight. But I just realized looking at these pictures that you and Steve are not only going to have the bluest eyed little babies to ever come in the world!!
