Alpine Slides

A few Saturdays ago, at the end of September, I thought it would be fun to take Steve to the Alpine slides in Park City, Utah. He couldn't remember ever going. It was also the weekend after his birthday so it worked out to be great timing. The leaves up in Park City were beautiful when we headed up and we really enjoyed the ski lift ride to the top of the mountain.

Our creative picture - taking skills.

Here we are waiting to ride. The line was a bit long, but the weather was nice enough that we didn't mind.  You can see the 4 slides in the background to our right.

I always struggle getting pictures of us on the ski lift, partly because I am just not that good at taking pictures of myself and partly because I don't want to drop my camera! Behind our heads are the little sleds you sit on to ride. To go you have to push forward, and to brake you just bring it back toward you.

The pictures didn't turn out that great on my camera but on the ride up we were surrounded by aspen trees and beautiful reds, oranges, and yellows.

Here is Steve, astutely listening to the operator explaining the rules of the ride.

And here we are at the bottom with a picture crasher behind us ;)

After we left Park City, we headed to the Toyota dealership to look at cars. We ended up buying one! We got a 2013 Toyota Corolla. We went in wanting a 2012, but they didn't have any and they gave us the 2013 for the same price as a 2012. (End of the month/meeting their quota type of deal). We traded in Steve's old Toyota Corolla (pictured below...not very great pictures) and we are quite happy with our new car! I didn't take a picture of it yet, but I included a picture below.
